Mambo is a Latin dance of Cuba which was developed in the 1940s when the music genre of the same name became popular throughout Latin America. The original dance which emerged in Cuba was related to the danzón, albeit faster and less rigid. In this course May will teach a PARTNERED style of Mambo, with a nod back to it’s vintage roots. This is the perfect course for those students looking to delve more into the roots of Cuban dance.

Level Guide
Open: Suitable for those with basic skills through to more advanced students. We recommend at least one year of dance experience for these courses.

About your teacher: May Morisco!

If May had one wish it would be to step back in time and onto the set of MGM (or more closely it’s costume department). May is the QUEEN of Vintage dance. More specifically Vintage CUBAN Dance. She loves to immerse herself in the dances of the 1920’s – 60’s. Cha Cha Cha, Mambo, Son all dances which bring the romantic nostalgia of a by gone era. May loves to teach her students gorgeous choreographies and help adorn them in costumes to make them feel sensational!
