Cost Per Nine Week Duration:

One Course – $135 per person

Two Courses – $240 per person

Three Courses – $325 per person

What is a Choreography Course? A choreography course will enable students to learn a full routine to a complete song during their course. Students will also have the optional opportunity to perform this at our Northern Australian Festival of the Arts (NAFA) event, Jungle Shimmy 3.0. This annual event sells out, gives you a chance to perform in an environment that is warm, supportive and nurturing.

Location: Townsville! BFitt Gym. Classes located in the upstairs dance studio. All classes are airconditioned, with mirrors and dance flooring. BFitt is located at 6/2 Woodman Ct, West End QLD 4810. Opposite Castletown, next to Chipmunks Playland.

Plenty of on-site parking available.

PLEASE NOTE: In TERM TWO we will run our student performance courses. These technique courses in term one are a pre requisite to be able to join us for those. All of our performance opportunities are completely optional but for those who wish to partake in that we need you to take our technique classes first.

CHOREOGRAPHY COURSE

TRANSNATIONAL FUSION WITH EM LEA

A vampy fusion choreography with lots of attitude and mysterious charm. Using a variation of movements with inspiration drawn from fusion elements. The focus is on Layering, Travelling, Isolations, Musicality with a collaboration on the final choreography. The course will culminate with an optional performance at our Jungle Shimmy showcase.

Bonus ‘crafternoon’ workshop to make masks for the performance (additional cost for materials)

CHOREOGRAPHY COURSE:

BELLY QUEEN FORMAT WITH CARA

Cara will be creating a new Choreography in this style which will be performed AND filmed at the Jungle Shimmy showcase in July. Creating both a performance opportunity and a video clip! This choreography will be an exhilarating ride for everyone involved including some incredible group formations using the Belly Queen style which will revolutionise the way you look at formations in Choreography and dance like never before. The format used will bring together it’s participants in a joyous, collaborative work of art. True Desert Roses!!

TRANSNATIONAL FUSION WITH JORDAN

A new vibrant and dynamic transnational fusion choreography course with Jordan. This choreography is set to Jabo’s tune, Habibi; an electronic song richly layered with sound textures. The dance itself is a chance for you to apply all the sleek, precise movements you have been practising in term 1 this year. It will be full of classic fusion vocabulary with stacks of sass to cushion the tricky and otherworldly movements. Vibe check: extra fun.

This choreography will be a perfect outlet for your hard-earned and high-tuned movements and give you a chance to explore new applications for what you know. Optional performance opportunity at the Northern Australian Festival of the Arts (NAFA) event, Jungle Shimmy 3.0. This annual event sells out, gives you a chance to perform in an environment that is warm, supportive and nurturing.

Refund Policy: There are no refunds or class credits for missed classes or change of mind. By prepaying for this course you are pledging to attend. This in turn means we can cover our time and resources to hold the class. We will also not be held liable for refunds or credits in the case of natural disaster, government enforced Covid lockdown or changes in government legislation in regards to any compulsory vaccination requirements. In the event of a Covid Lockdown we will however continue the course via online methods.
