Location: Townsville! BFitt Gym. Classes located in the upstairs dance studio. All classes are airconditioned, with mirrors and dance flooring. BFitt is located at 6/2 Woodman Ct, West End QLD 4810. Opposite Castletown, next to Chipmunks Playland.

OUM KALTHOUM DEEP DIVE!

A MUST KNOW FOR EVERY BELLY DANCER!

Who is Oum Kalthoum? Why does she matter to Belly Dancers? Oum Kalthoum was a groundbreaking singer who revolutionised the way Egyptian Music was represented between the 1920’s and the 1970’s. In fact many of today’s well known Egyptian songs to perform belly dance to were popularised by Oum Kalthoum. Songs for belly dance such as Alf Leyla Wa Leyla, Enta Omri, Lessa Fakir, Daret al Ayam, and Leylet Hob were all sung by her. In this course we’ll study many of her classics, the musicality, the meaning and the stories behind the music. We’ll also address ‘Classical’ style Belly Dance through Reda technique. This course will give students some ‘must know’ information in the study of Belly Dance to really solidify their knowledge.

TECHNIQUE COURSE:

BIG GIRL DRUM WITH JORDAN!

This course is an exploration of drum technique for beyond beginner and intermediate students. Learn and practise the sharp, crispy, satisfying pops and locks inherent to a table solo, while learning to give the drum personality and style. This is a fast paced and wonderfully exciting course that will get you moving and feeling spicy!

Refund Policy: There are no refunds or class credits for missed classes or change of mind. By prepaying for this course you are pledging to attend. This in turn means we can cover our time and resources to hold the class. We will also not be held liable for refunds or credits in the case of natural disaster, government enforced Covid lockdown or changes in government legislation in regards to any compulsory vaccination requirements. In the event of a Covid Lockdown we will however continue the course via online methods.
